Haul: ZA Cosmetics X Tokyo Ed Tsuwaki Edition Set (How to colour matchwith the new formula)

I love the new ZA Limited Edition case because it's super duper cute!! I have previously bought the limited jazzy bubbles edition and this time to commemorate ZA's launch in Tokyo, they have decided to work with Japan's leading artist Ed Tsuwaki( actually I have no ideawho this guy was until I read the info behind the box.LOL)

Se includes:
- 1 Limited Edition Foundation Case
- 1 Limited Edition Za x Nippon Canvas Tote
- 2 Perfect fit Two -Way Foundation Refill

I haven't tried the new formula yet except when I was testing the colour in watsons. I got matched to the OC20 which is equivalent to no.23 , while previously I use the no.22. The sales lady told me that due to the new brightening formula the colour tends to lean a bit lighter.

Disclaimer: Totally not sponsored bought it myself ;)

Canmake Cover and Stretch Concealer Review

I have been waiting to put together all three swatches of the concealer colours because 1 of them was with my sister.

Without further a due, I will review this item and let me tell you it is my Holy Grail Concealer!!!

Pros:
-Coverage is very opaque
-Lasting Power: Doesn't budge at all through out the day because of it's waterproof properties
- SPF of 25PA++ (spf is always a plus)
- Can cover acne, scarring, blemish, dark circles etc.
- Highly affordable Japanese drugstore brand
- Colour matches most asian skin tones(since it is a Japanese brand and sold in Asia) , which means it matches me :)
- Highly blendable with fingers/ brushes

Cons:
- For darker skintones , there is no shade available for you
- Hard to find if it's not in Asia/ must buy online for others

Overall this is definately an awesome concealer I cannot emphasise more how I recommend this more than any other concealers I have tried. I do like my Sonia Kashuk but it can trnd to be cakey / settle on dry flakes. Canmake Cover and Stretch concealer is a liquid formula that is awesome to put anywhere on your face.

I have bought this many times and my sister loves it too.. We have been using this from the start of our make up journey and still use it until today.

Although the Silver print does fade off, there is a sticker on the bottom to know your colour. The packaging is simple and it has a wand/doe foot applicator that is useful.

Colour description according to me :

No.1 Light Beige
- a light beige colour / fair with yellow undertones

No.2 Natural Beige
- a medium beige colour with neutral undertones

No.3 Ochrel Beige
- a medium beige darker than shade 2 with yellow undertones

LOVE THIS !!!

Cherry

FairyDrops Platinum Mascara Water Proof Type Review and Pictures

This is a great mascara that is proven to be waterproof, holds my eyelash curl all day and has fibres that lengthens my lashes.

I love using this with my Dior extase Mascara, the combo results in my short straight asian eye lashes to stand up and look full.

This is a perfect base for my lashes because without applying this first, Dior EXTASE just weighs down my lashes and seem too thick.

The curved brush with 3 balls really helps separate my lashes and coat them evenly.

All in all this is a mascara i highly recommend for people with Short, Straight and Sparse lashes !! This is a total lash saviour! It also lasts all day because of it's waterproof properties but it takes more time to remove this mascara with a make up remover.

I washed my full face make up face and this mascara cannot be removed with water. So if you are not a fan of super non-budging hard to remove mascara I do not recommend this item.

It is buildable and you can see it from the pic collection that I have made. All in all I love this !!

Love,
Cherry :)

Revlon Photoready Bronzer Limited Edition Escapism Summer 2012Collection Review&Swatches

This bronzer came out in the Revlon by Gucci Westman Escapism Collection for Summer 2012.
Since this is a Limited Edition Item, if you can get your hands on it and you have a medium complexion, I would highly suggest you to purchase it!
This bronzer consist of 4 colours (I am going to describe each individually) all of the colours are matte but have different undertones in my opinion. Matte bronzers are favorable because they give a much more natural effect, which is good. Especially for bronzer beginners who are afraid to contour!

1. The lightest shade is a yellow toned light brown colour.
2. The shade on top right is a neutral tone medium brown colour.
3. The bottom right is a orange tone medium brown colour.
4. The darkest shade is a neutral tone medium-dark brown colour.

The packaging is pretty hefty for a drugstore item, it is made of plastic but looks refined from the outside. It contains a mirror and also a cheap plastic brush that has rough bristles. I usually contour using my favorite Shu Uemura 14H angled brush. I have never used the brush included because I put it away and do not need it. For people who like brushes in their product that are small and easy to carry around, it might be quite handy, but I just don't really like it :)

I did not swatch these colours heavily, but I must say the pigmentation is very nice and the powder formulation glides on smoothly, and is highly blendable when applied to my face for contouring.
It also lasts on my skin and does make you "PHOTOREADY", with flash or non flash photography, this bronzer contours the shape of my face like wonders.

All in all, it has become my favorite bronzer for contouring because I can mix up the shades and use it for different parts of my face. I like contouring my nose with a lighter, subtle colour or else it will look highly unnatural. The other 3 colours are nice for contouring my cheekbones and jaw line.

You can watch this bronzer in action in my make up tutorials, visit my youtube beauty channel under the account : cherrythoughts

I highly recommend this item as this has become my favorite!! Grab it while you still can :)

See you in the next post!!

Majolica Majorca Ch 34 Psychedelicious Jeweling eyes No.66 and No.77 Mini Review andSwatches

Majolica Majorca came out with a new collection called Ch 34 Psychedelicious. It comes with many items :
Lash King in BR 666 Brown (new shade), Brow and Lash Colourist (Available in 2 shades- BR 333 & BR555), Cream Pencil Liner in BR 677 Cocoa Brown (new shade), Puff De Cheek (Available in PK 415 & RD 414), Honey Pump Gloss Neo (Limited Edition- RS 456), New nail polish colours Artistic Nails, Popping Shower Powder and 2 Jeweling eyes Eyeshadow quads that came recently in No.66 and No.77.

I spotted these in SASA Macau so I quickly swatched them and took pictures. It seems that quad No.77 with pinks and browns is more pigmented than the other one. They are all shimmery colours, some are more glittery than the others.

Check out the swatches and let me know what you think :)

See you next time,

Revlon Colorburst Lip butter Review and Swatches

This has been raved about so much and I know i'm kinda late in reviewing this item, but I just wanted to share these pretty swatches..

My very short review on this:
- Nice feel
- Not long lasting (well I think it's okay since it is a lip butter, and butter slides away easily)
- Pretty Medium pigmentation colour that looks natural
- Gives my lips mediocre moisturising properties
- Not a miracle product for chapped lips
- Has shimmer that is still wearable and pretty

thoughts on each shades:
1. Sweet Tart
When I saw the swatches before buying them online in Ulta, I thought that it would look more wearable for me. I personally think it appears too bold/bright for my liking. This has very good pigmentation for a lip butter.

2. Peach Parfait
Initially, I thought this would come off sort of brown and muddy but it turns out to be a really neutral and wearable colour and it's my favorite out of all the shades.

3. Tutti Frutti
This was the first lip butter I bought. I love this a lot but I couldn't pull of a completely tangerine/ bright coral lip without mixing or blending. It adds a nice touch of brightness to pink glosses.

4.Strawberry Shortcake
This is a pale cool toned pink that is a very cute colour. I like it a lot too, but I prefer using a very sheer layer because my warm toned skin doesn't really match cool toned colours.

All in all, I do like these that is why I bought 3 more shades after the first one I got in tutti frutti. They are very nice for a natural look and I would love to repurchase them if I ran out.

See you next time,
Cherry

Dolly Wink Otona Collection New Brown Liquid Eyeliner Review,Swatches and Comparison(to the old black DW liner)

I just felt like I have to say this :
This is my second time writing this because I accidentally deleted my completed post !
But since I am a dilligent person and I want to share my thoughts on this item, I have pain-stakingly written down everything again..

I love Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliners... but the pencil formula is just terrible and a waste of your money. You can get much better pencil eyeliners with more product for less price like the NYX Slide on eyeliner pencil. Enough with the pencil liners, now it's time to talk about liquid liners !!!

I have tried several other Western and Asian types of eyeliners with felt tips and brush tips. I personally love brush tips better because they give a fine line with awesome colour delivery.
Dolly Wink liquid eyeliners are often compared to the K-Pallete 24H Tattoo Liner, which I also have and used. The comparison I am going to talk about is on the black liners from the two brands. KP has a longer lasting power, but i don't like it since it's like a temporary tattoo and is hard to remove ; I have to tug my lids to remove it. Plus, the DW lasts long enough like 4-5 hours which is enough for me and the colour is a darker black.

Now .. Talking about the brown liner , I like the fact that DW has the same shape and brush tip that I very much love ..

Reasons to love the Otona Brown Liner:
- A medium brown that Looks more natural than the vivid black liner . If you like a natural look, it will suit you.
- Has an awesome brush tip that allows you to creat thin/ fine lines.
- Nicely Pigmented
- Lasts quite a long time 3-4 hourse without reapplying or smudging
- Doesnt burn/ sting your eyes when you apply it on the lower lashes or very closely to your lash line.
- Dries quickly
- Uber cute packaging !!! ( cute packaging+product is an awesome combo for a make up junkie!)

Why it is not that awesome:
- Lasts 1 hour less than the old formulation ( for me )
- The brown might be too light for some people
- Hard to find . As far as I know, It is only available in Japan and maybe some online stores.

All in all I am satisfied with this eyeliner, It does it's job and it's a nice addition to my growing collection. I would use this instead of my Holy Grail DW Black one for a more natural daily look.

See you in the next post,
Cherry

Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream Review and Swatches

Canmake is probably my top favorite Japanase drugstore brand, and that's why I have the most number of items from them. I love canmake lip, concealer and cheek products, but so far, for me the eyeshadow are too sparkly/glittery. I have swatched their powder foundation before and it's really nice but the colors are just too light for me.

Overview: This is the first liquid product from Canmake that I bought and I like it better than the Missha Perfect Cover since it is not that greyish but has a higher SPF. To me, this bb cream is decent,  the colour selection is poor like most asian BB Creams that only come in 2 shades (1 Light and 2 Natural )but most consumers in Japan would suit it , so I can't complain about it. The colour is a little  light for me but I can adjust the colour with some powder or bronzer. This is the first high SPF of 50 BB Cream that is not overly grey. I love the fact that the yellow undertone still shows and blends into my skin.

Facts about this BB Cream
- contains great ingredients
- blends in well and doesn't feel like anything is in your skin
- to me it is moisturising
- not oily
- dewy finish
- medium coverage, buildable to almost full ( it has awesome coverage for a bb cream, seriously it's awesome for my dark circles)
- doesn't cover acne bumps as great as spots/ dark circles/ acne scars/pores on flat skin surface
- stays on your face a long time, even on a hot summer day
- only ¥840 in Japan which is decent because the content is not much either
- only comes in 2 shades and only available in Japan and Hongkong, also some online stores

"The BB cream born from beauty serum ☆
You can care for your skin just by applying it. Contains 21 types of beautifying ingredients.
Natural, yet with superb coverage ♥
SPF50 & PA+++, with a formulation that's gentle on your skin ♥

A skincare product that reduces the effect of the sun's rays and acts as a foundation with sheer coverage!"

"Contains 21 types of beautifying and moisturizing ingredients ♥
Hyaluronic acid, collagen, ceramides, royal jelly extract, witch-hazel extract, arbutin, Job's tears extract,
Saxifraga stolonifera extract, aloe vera extract, ascorbyl tetraisopalmitate, artichoke leaf extract, cherry leaf extract,
prune resolvent, seaweed extract, soybean extract, glycosyl trehalose, gingko extract, peach leaf extract,

hydrolyzed silk, European white birch bark extract, multiflora rosehip extract"

Quoted from Canmake's website :)

I thought that it would be helpful to compare this bb cream to the ultra popular Missha M Perfect Cover bb cream because most people would know the size. I think the Canmake BB Cream is better because the product Is better and looks more natural. The packaging is pink and super cute , eventhough it doesn't have a pump, the squeeze tube allows you to take a pea size at a time.

I think that this BB Cream has a very nice formula and colour considering the fact that it has an SPF of 50 higher than Missha M , but this is not a Holy Grail BB Cream for me.

p.s.High SPF is good for using out on a hot summer but it flashes back on pictures.

Japan Haul August 2012 Dolly Wink Otona Collection+Canmake

Hi all!!! I have a really awesome mini haul to show you guys :) Reviews and swatches will definitely come soon !!

My sister came back from her study trip to Japan and got me 4 things that are awesome :)

1. Dolly Wink New Otona Collection False Eyelashes in No.10 Sweet Cat

2. Dolly Wink New Otona Collection Bottom Eyelashes in No.13 Baby Girl

3. Dolly Wink New Otona Collection Brown Liquid Eyeliner

4. Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream in No.2 Natural

Both of the falsies I got are matched up in the promo pictures so I thought that they complimented each other and would make a nice pair of top and bottom lashes. The Otona collection eyelashes look more natural than the old Dolly Wink collection, that looks spiky and alot more gyaru. Personally I like both but the Otona Collection looks more wearable.

The Dolly Wink Brown Liquid Eyeliner is completely new and is not an old product with a different packaging like the black liquid eyeliner and pencil liners. The liquid liner originally only came in black and there is no problem with the formula, well, it is my Holy Grail liquid eyeliner. I'm not sure if they changed the formula or not for the black one because I didn't get that. Brown liquid liners look less harsh so I wanted to get this for a natural look.

The last but not least, the Canmake Perfect Serum BB Cream is something I have wanted from quite sometime ago. Since it is not sold in Singapore, I had no easy access to the product. When I finally got it I was so happy because it's an SPF 50PA++ BB Cream with supposedly 21 awesome ingredients. I will review it pretty soon so I will let you guys know whether I like it or not.

All in all I am really happy with my haul and I can't wait to test them all out :)

See you later,
Cherry :)

RAVE Review&Swatches : Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Pallete

First of all i have to say that this is a fantastic product that I love, I'm still on the fence whether or not this item can beat my Holy Grail(HG) Canmake Cover and Stretch Concealer UV Waterproof that I repurchased many times already.

This handy compact pallete has 4 products in it : light concealer, medium concealer, neutralizer and translucent powder.

The concealers and the neutralizer have the same consistency that is creamy and glides on smoothly. It's highly blendable and melts into your skin. Coverage is fantastic and opaque but not cakey.

The neutralizer has a slight greenish undertone to minimize redness, terrific for around the nose and red patches on your face.

The translucent powder has a nice feel to it, it's easy to pick up the product and it sets down the concealer nicely. It's just that it contains shimmer like Sonia Kashuk's Brightening Powder so it's unsuitable to use all around the face. Personally I prefer using this as a highlighter. Because somehow it gives coverage but the powder comes off like a sheer shimmery white but not completely translucent.

I absolutely love the concealers but the powder doesn't really work well with the concealer, if it was a matte translucent color , the pallete would have been better.

All in all this is an item worth purchasing!! Two thumbs up :)

See you later,
Cherry ^.^

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Too Cool review & swatches

This item has been raved everywhere among beauty gurus, beauty lovers and basically i heard a lot of good things about this item ..

I initially chose to buy this colour because I thought it would be a food universal base(the color tattoos were compared to MAC paint pots in consistency). It turns out that for my personal use, I cannot use this certain color on my lids alone because it is a bright shimmery white, and since it is very pigmented it looks too awkward alone.

I prefer using this as a base for smoky eye looks that I barely use .. This may have been an excellent addition to my collection if the color was different, maybe a neutral earthy tone or browns or golds would suit my liking better.

I have no problems with creasing because my eyelids are not oily, this has a very good staying power about 5-6 hours before creasing. I did not bother to test the 24hour claim because I think majority of people do not need to wear make up for such a long period of time.

This is a good product, but the colour just doesn't suit me. For a drugstore brand, the quality is absolutely fantastic and buying more colours would not empty our pockets too much. :P

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Night Concentrate Sleeping Pack

I actually planned on buying the super popular Laniege sleeping pack but haven't gotten around on splurging on it . When i saw this in Singapore I Was immediately drawn to it because it's supposed to be really hydrating.

So, my thoughts are :
- This gives a nice cooling sensation when applied
- Keeps skin moisturised at night
- Since it's oil-free , alcohol free , non - comedogenic and dermatologist tested , it's not greasy, drying nor will it clog your pores.

I must admit that this is not an absolute wonder product but it's worth the price as a basic night pack.

This product is supposed to be is supposed to be used at night and rinsed in the morning. Recommended to be used 2x a week; also suitable to use daily.

all in all i would actually repurchase this item, there are lots of Neutrogena skincare items that i keep going back too.. Because they are fantastic and affordable .

Awesome Find: Biore make up remover from Watsons SG!!

I just wanted to share this awesome biore eye&lip make up remover that works wonderfully and can easily move heavy eyeliner or any type of eye make up. This formula is like a lot of other make up removers with the 2 types of liquids combined in 1 being oil on top and pink liquid on the bottom. Others are normally oil and blue solution. Just like lancome's make up remover that my mom has, this works just as well and is way cheaper...

p.s. though what matters to me is the content but i can't help but say that the packaging is very cute!! like it's diamond cut..

totally recommended and worth your money!!

KIKO Make Up Milano Eye Shadow Review & Swatches

KIKO Make Up Milano is available only in European countries such as Italy, France and others. I came across this brand when I went to Italy and I must say that they people who can find this item should check it out because the quality is amazing, and its affordable!

 Top to Bottom:
141 Light Pink with Purple Undertones Frosty
102 True Gold Satin
139 Pearly Salmon(Champagne) Shimmer

The Gold colour which is 102 is definitely the best and is as good as Urban Decay newly reformulated eye shadows if not better. It is the most buttery eye shadow I have came across and the pigmentation is wonderful. It is easy to blend and does not require a primer or base to stay on for a long time. The packaging says that it is a long wearing eye shadow that is tested to last up to 12 hours. I don't even use make up that long but I think that during the span of time I wear it, it didn't crease the the colour didn't wear off.
As for the Champagne 139 and 141 Light Pink-Purple both of them are also great but is not as buttery, they are harder and is not as soft even though they are also very pigmented. I guess it's because the gold one has a satin finish that I like it the best.

Overall, I highly recommend these eye shadows from KIKO because they are just absolutely wonderful!

See you in the next post,
Cherry :)

Canmake Moist Souffle Shadow in Brown Swatch

This is the Canmake Moist Souffle Shadow in Brown. First of all I was excited when it first came out because I thought that it would feel great, be pigmented used by itself as a single colour on my lids or would at least serve as a nice base for eye shadow. The packaging is truly cute, but the product is disappointing considering that Canmake is a brand who makes great products. So far, I think the eye products are mostly disappointing unlike the popular lips and cheeks items that I own and absolutely adore,

The product feels like a soggy souffle, but it feels like gel when you blend it out. When you press it, it feels mushy and it's not a nice feeling. The product looks pretty good in the pan but when it is blended out, it loses it's colour and turns super sheer but highly shimmery. Which I don't necessarily like especially since it has almost no colour to it when I blend it out. Below, the spreaded (right) swatch is dabbed on to my hand, if I had swiped it side to side, the brown would blend into my skin.It is not a pigmented product at all and I wouldn't recommend it.
Swatches of the Moist Souffle in Brown

But I do have a way to work with it, If you want the colour to show up, you must lightly pat the colour on to your lids and do not blend it out, just take more colour to make the shape you want and build up the colour. Then, set it with a translucent powder if you want the colour to show up, and also it creases badly if you don't set it. As an eye shadow base, this would not make your eye shadow stay longer, or brighter, it just makes your eye shadow more sparkly. It doesn't crease if you set it with a powder so I guess it could be used.

Overall, I love Canmake but this product just doesn't work for me even though the packaging is cute :P

Shishedo Sun Protection Lotion SPF 50 Review & Swatch

This is named one of the top sunscreens in Sephora and has become really popular over the years. I have been using this sunscreen since I was young when I go swimming because this is what my mother always use.

This sunscreen has a white colour and when photographs are taken, your face would have a grey overcast. Products with SPF never photographs well but some how many beauty gurus in youtube use it as a face primer. I think that it face foundation apply smoother but it is only good if you are not taking pictures.
The texture is kind of runny at the same time sticky and hard to blend out if you put on too much product.
Even though it is unsuitable for photographs, this is still a great sunscreen and I adore it!!

This is also water proof so it would last and prevent my skin from burning when I go swimming. This sunscreen can be used for face and body. The product is really worth the price because it lasts a long time and it has 100ml in it. The packaging is really sleek and I like the way the teal and orange pop!

I love this sunscreen and have been using it for years, I really recommend it :)

Victoria Secret Beauty Rush Shadow Duo in Pink on Earth Review & Swatch

This is from Victoria Secret's, Beauty Rush Shadow Duo in Pink on Earth.

The colour is really pigmented when I scrape the colour and make it into a powder, at first I didn't like this eye shadow because the pigmentation seemed really poor at first when it was still flat in the pan. When I found this method, I grew to like this duo. I wouldn't really use the colours together because the pink is too light to be matched with the dark brown. But used separately, they colours are really pretty and has lots of fine shimmer!

As you can see the price is US $7 and it is really affordable! It contains 2 grams of product and its pretty good sized. What I dislike about the packaging is that it cracks easily, in the picture, you can see that the plastic has chipped and broke off.

Pigmented Swatch when the colours are crushed into powder !!

The product inside is really good and I recommend it to whoever wants a good, pigmented eye shadow duo with an affordable price. For some people, it could be a hassle because you have to crush it into powder to make the colour show though..

See you in the next post,
Cherry :)
